I qualified as an N.N.E.B nursery nurse in 1983, and before moving to the Mews I worked as a Nanny and as as a Deputy Co-ordinator for eleven years in a local Day Nursery. I started working at the Mews in 1994, and while here have attained NVQ Assessor status, which allows me to facilitate the NVQ training programme for our staff. It is additionally part of my role to liaise with relevant outside groups; for example attending workshops about current legislation and good practice. My special area of responsibility is Behaviour Management.

I qualified as a nursery nurse in 1992 after completing the BTEC National Diploma at Bath College. I started working at the Mews in 1995 as a relief member of staff covering staff holidays. I became a permanent member of the team in January 1996. I currently work part-time as a co-ordinator, combining work with bringing up my two year old daughter, who has a place in the nursery.

Before working at the Mews, I studied at Bath College for a Btec National Diploma in Early Years. This is where I gained over 800 hours of experience working with children in various settings which included a school, nursery and family environment. This is where I developed a lot of my knowledge and put my theory into practice. I started at the Mews in July 2005 and have enjoyed working with the caring and friendly team. From 2006 I have worked in the Pre School as a full-time Senior Nursery Nurse.

I thoroughly enjoy working with young children and have previously worked for 6 years in a Day Nursery, and for 12 years caring for children as a registered child minder. My additional area of responsibility is SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator).

I recently qualified from City of Bristol College where I studied the Diploma in Childcare and Education, during this course I gained knowledge of the age’s and stages of children’s development and how to observe them. It also gave me the chance to work in a number of different childcare settings where I gained my experience. I finished the course in June 2005 and started working at the mews in July 2005.

I have worked at the Mews since October 2001, and I have an NVQ level 2 in Early Years Care & Education. I am now at the college studying for Level 3. I work in both the Holiday Club and After School Club, and working in these two areas I am able to watch and enjoy children between the ages of 3 and 11 develop in to their own unique characters. I love my job as I find children great fun to be around!

I worked as a nanny since I trained in 1995 at Lucie Clayton College. After my second daughter was born, I became a registered child minder in 2002, which I still enjoy, alongside working part-time in the Mews Nursery.

I have eight years experience in childcare, mainly as a nanny caring for children aged between 0 - 13, but also in nurseries as a nursery assistant. I gained a BTec National certificate in Nursery Nurserying and a certificate in Paediatric first aid. I love doing arts and crafts activities with the children, and enjoy watching their development. In my spare time I love going on hikes in the countryside, playing the recorder and singing in the choir. I've been working at the Mews since 2006 and thoroughly enjoy it!

I have been working at The Mews since April 2007, I really enjoy working alongside  the children and watching them develop into individauls . I am currently studying towards my Take 10 level 2 in Playwork, and hope to start my Level 3 in Early Years in September 2008.

I am currently studing towards a BA/BSc in Psychology and Drama studies. I am in my third year and working on a dissertation involving peoples attitudes to SEN Children. I work part time in the Afterschool Club and thoroughly enjoy taking the time out from my studies to have some fun with the Children. I have a playworkers qualification equvilent to level 2 which I obtained  in The Summer of 2007after working in a playscheme in Wales.

I have been working at The Mews since Nov 2007. I thoroughly enjoy working with children & have experience of working with children from many different ages, backgrounds & abilities. I work in the nursery , pre-school & afterschool club, and enjoy working with a wide age range of children which I find very rewarding.

My training is in accounts and Sage accounts software. I started at the centre in August 2007 and have been tasked with streamlining the exisiting systems. I am enjoying the challenges this presents!

I'd like to advise parents that all billing and general enquiries should be made through the C0-ordinators, so that I can get on with the accounts.

My husband Bram and I came to manage the Carfax Hotel back in 1970. During those early years of juggling work and childcare (Tim below will testify to the difficulties!), I saw the need for a not-for-profit child care facility in Bath's centre and thought Carfax's then unused basements would be an ideal venue. Sometime later the Mews was finally set up in 1991 and I have been OFSTED's named person since then, taking a keen interest in the steering committee and Mew's business side.
