10 Years Old Today!!
The Mews Nursery Gets it on in the Park. |
On Saturday 7th July at 1.30pm preparations began to celebrate
the Mews Nursery's tenth birthday in the the familiar surroundings
of Henrietta Park. These are the first pictures in and there are quite a few here so be patient and enjoy.
...and the helium-filled balloons arrived.
The Children's handmade banners were hung up...

One of the food tables 'before'!

The Jelly and sausages on sticks were escorted in by the
capable Yvonne and Else, while Martin got the engines going
to pump up the Bouncy Castle and Ball Pool.

The special guest, flown in all the way from Florida, creeps
into the proceedings 'incognito'.
So that he can declare the party officially open after the
all important countdown.
Three...
Two...
One..
Quick, to the Bouncy Castle!
The Bouncy Castle is up and things start to get into full
swing.
Not a place for the faint hearted - oh, no..!
Balloons aplenty!

You can't have a proper
party without Ice Cream.
Looks quite orderly doesn't it...
This was before the rush!
The special birthday cake
is cut by the three original members of staff, with the SA line manager and a number of much older looking alumni.
The kids (and one noticeably big kid) assemble for Tricky Nicky's magic show.
And so where has the mysterious vanishing blue handkerchief gone?
A tense moment...
...Of course its up Tricky's sleeve. You have to be up pretty early to catch this lot out!! |

While other kids go native...

...and try to find the hidden treasure, which is not as easily found as the handkerchief!
There are those who simple know what they like from the very start...
...and it is the ball pond which harbours untold intrigues for the discerning....
...provided you don't try to eat your way out!
Posing with balloons for the local press - Look out for the Evening Chronicle article. |
As the last balloon disappears over the trees and the revellers disperse, there is a thought in the reflective mind of the webnanny...Well, it was hard work but it was worth it.
I guess that covers the day and the ten years!!
Happy Birthday Mews Nursery and well done you staff, parents and kids.
